- Log in using your account credentials.
- Go to My Domains and click on
Active
Domain. - Locate the section "
DNS Management
" at left sidebar, - Click the "
Yes, Create
" button if you don't have any existing DNS zone for this domain name.(Skip this step if you already have an existing DNS zone)
- Scroll down and Look for an option to
Add a new DNS record
. - Select the record type as
CNAME
. Enter thedestination domain
in the recordAddress/Value
field. - Also, Find the existing CNAME record associated with the domain you want to redirect.
- Select the CNAME record and look for an option to edit its settings.
- Modify the record's
Address/Value
field to the domain or hostname of the destination where you want to redirect the traffic. Save changes
.
Remember: You must update the domain nameservers to point to the nameservers listed below so that the domain redirect using a CNAME record will work.
Nameserver 1: ns1.gomanilahost.net
Nameserver 2: ns2.gomanilahost.net
And if you're using CloudFlare DNS, disregard the steps above and proceed to:
- Log in to CloudFlare Dashboard, and Click on Domain Active.
- Locate the section
DNS
at the left sidebar. - Click the
Add record
button. Select the CNAME inType
, Enter the domain in theName
field, and Enter the domain destination in theTarget
field. - Also, Find the existing CNAME record associated with the domain you want to redirect.
- Select the CNAME record and look for an option to edit its settings.
- Modify the record's
Target
field to the domain or hostname of the destination where you want to redirect the traffic. Save
.
However, If your domain is hosted in another hosting provider or using other hosting provider nameservers.
They manages the DNS of the domain. You might want to reach out to your web hosting provider support and ask for their assistance on how to redirect the domain in the DNS Zone of your web hosting account.
DNS redirection may not be as effective or instantaneous as other methods due to caching and propagation of DNS records across the internet.
